Any Credit?

Gunna throw a religious question out there.....

When something goes well for us in our lives, do we get no credit or is it all giving to the big guy upstairs. For example; A guy finally turns his life around after being addicted to drugs for countless years. Does he get any satisfaction in saying, I've done it. I'm proud of myself...Or is Thanks God for turning my life around for me.

I am not sure how to "technically" answer that one.
I think though that the man would and should be able to say "I've done it" and it is wonderful to be proud of himself. We have free will and it is our choice to see how we use it. Maybe "I've done it, but not solely on my own. I was helped by God. But I did it." I think that GOd pushes you into the right track and when you listen to what He is saying then you have done it. God would be proud. It takes help.
I really am not sure. I do know that it would be a good thing to tell yourself that "i've done it, and I am proud that I have". (in my mind)
Anyone out there able to answer that one??
